reporting live from hokkaido, japan, where i am freezing my butt off.

my nose is red, my cheeks are frozen, my lips are numb and smoke comes out of my mouth when i speak.

its fantastic.

i loooove cold weather.

but i utterly, completely, detest wearing thick layers of winter clothing.

the freakishly-large-dumpling-on-2-legs look isnt really my thing.

sooo a quick update of what's been happening since my last post.

on sat i was jerked awake at 12.30 to the realization that i was supposed to be at both xenbar and church at 2, my luggage wasnt packed and my flight was on that day.

quite a wake-up call.

i scrambled to get packed (forgetting about a third of what i was supposed to bring) but due to certain unforeseen circumstances was unable to make it to xenbar and instead went off to church.

i stayed (bored) at church rally rehearsals till 4, where unforeseen circumstances made an appearance again and i was able to make a mad (seriously mad) dash to xenbar.

i met a bored dionne watching the on1 practices and we went upstairs to go through the changes to our choreo before an unwelcome phone call brought me helter-skelter back to church.

then it was straight to the airport, with well-wishes from friends (ppl hoping that i meet an earthquake in japan or get into trouble) resounding in my ears.

oh, so moving.

i bought stardust and the amber spyglass at the airport bookstore (because the golden compass was out of stock; big surprise there). stardust the movie turned out to be so much more thrilling than stardust the book, which i finished reading in a flight and a half because i skimmed through the boring parts (which was pretty much the whole book).

if you're wondering about 'a flight and a half' we transitted at bangkok before going on to tokyo.

at the bangkok immigration counter an officer we encountered continuously went 'teh-win? teh-win?' at the sight of us.

i was pondering the existence of a bangkoklish when it finally occurred to us that she thought me and my sister were twins.

my 20-year-old, soon to be 21 sister.

and ppl think that i cant get into union square.

from there on the flight to tokyo was long, dreary and boring.

we stopped at tokyo for 3 hours before - gasp - taking another flight to sapporo.

the plane we took there was alarmingly small, the kind that gets mistaken for a bird or superman.

when i walked into the cabin my head was roughly 2 millimetres from the ceiling.

had my hair been any bigger it would have been ridding the ceiling of dust.

apparently, tall people are not the norm here.

when we finally touched down at sapporo and prepared to alight, the flight stewardess kindly warned us to be careful when standing up for the ceiling was rather low.

gee really? i hadnt noticed.

sapporo turned out to be satisfyingly chilly and we encountered a minor snow storm when we stepped outside at night.

us and a company of taiwanese people went a little insane at the sight of the snow.

obviously it doesnt snow much in taiwan.

pictures in a little while! stay tuned.

if this entry was unsatisfyingly un-detailed or if there is any grammatical errors or speling erors its because im rattling this out in record time.

so make do.
