japan 2

2009-12-25 9:01 p.m.

apparently, airport lounges are only for classy people.

Which is why im in one right now, using the wi-fi!

because japanese airports apparently dont provide internet connection OUTSIDE of said classy lounges.

such discrimination.

it is kind of strange though, to walk into the lounge wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans and seeing all the suit-clad business people doing professional-looking things on their laptops give me discreetly confused glances.

someone in front of me is typing some stuff into a word document, someone else next to me is reading a boring section of a boring newspaper. a couple of distinguished-looking oldish people with distinguished-looking grey hair just hahaha-ed by holding distinguished-looking cups of coffee.

oh well.

anyway im finally going back to singapore!! after a week of freezing my butt off in japan.

but it was definitely really really fun, cold butt aside, because of all the strange/funny people who happen to be my cousins.

i think weird runs in the family.

anyway, i leave this land very satisfied because i finally, finally, FINALLY got to snowboard 2 days ago.

although it was initially very embarrassing and irritating and difficult (because the instructor - japanese woman, not hot caucasian guy - made us stretch in the snow in front of all other people at the slope and do ridiculous things like fall extremely unglamly into snow mounds and talked to us a little like we were retarded, in addition to the fact that snowboarding IS kind of hard to get after skiing and i kept losing control of the darn slippery board) sean and i finally managed to get the hang of it after one million and one meetings of butt to snow.

and head to snow and shoulders to snow and knees to snow and face to snow.

but it was worth it because not only is snowboarding really fun, person ON snowboard also looks extremely cool.

56-year-old daddy couldnt make it though, and gave up trying to regain his youth after about 3 hours.

(which just means he decided to change back to skiis.)

but i am a snowboard-convert and will NEVER go back to skiing again.

(well unless there's time for both.)

waking up the next day after abovementioned one million and one meetings of various body parts to snow was hard because no amount of stretching or isolating - before OR after - can prepare you for going head over heels in the snow (with a big heavy board attached to heels, furthermore) after hitting a snow mound whilst going at high speed.

it just HURTS.

plus you end up getting snow down your pants and up your top which sucks even worse.

anyway, its a bit of a killjoy that only my family is going back to singapore when everyone else goes on to osaka and tokyo i.e universal studios and disneyland.

but then again that would mean missing the 31st dec performance (which i just heard about from dionne), jacky's wedding competition thingy, and three whole weeks of classes.

argh.

i seem to miss a lot of things despite having the most free time on my hands.

(let me just silently rejoice again. EIGHT MONTHS!!!!)

well taa i have to board the plane now.

till christmas!
