christmas specials

i havent got a christmas tree.
so naturally there isnt a common dumping point for presents in my house.
which is why i only noticed a pile of presents WITH MY NAME ON THEM on the table yesterday.
so the whole 'oooh presents!' thing was done only yesterday, 2 days after christmas, and unlike the cheesy kids in the christmas specials my surprise was real because i didnt actually expect them to be there.

unfortunately ive only got 2 pictures because i left early for xen rehearsals, which brings me to my next subject!

the pictures are quite limited, i realize. but i just stole them off someone's facebook so who am i to complain?

dionne and i did only 3 items this time round because we didnt want to go to the trouble of relearning the pirate shine and getting the costume for schoolgirl shine, so we just did the group hip hop, our own hip hop and penguin shine.
the transition between group hip hop and our own hip hop was loooong and dreary.
so this is what we did for entertainment.
that would be the result of that fantastic hairspray i got from jovan on christmas day, bed head, which promised to defy gravity and hold 10 to 12 inches of hair upwards.
(but of course those who actually had hair that length were unwilling to be tested on.)
dora and i had moses be our guinea pig on christmas day and tried to give him the cool mohawk look.
naturally, it didnt work.
'twas the season to be traumatized by hairspray.
anyway digression aside, the transition between our own hip hop and penguin shine was roughly 3 minutes.
and coincidentally the penguin shine costume happened to be the hardest to get into, what with the suspenders and cap.
so as soon as we re-entered the wings after performing our own hip hop we were swarmed by people pulling our hip hop jacket off, pinning the beret on our hair and getting the suspenders and our shoes on.
our first speed change.
quite a scary experience.
anyway since there are no pictures of me and dionne's hip hop item here are some from the rehearsals! (which i once again ripped off someone's facebook)
i have come to the conclusion that tanning is a necessity.
especially when i couldnt make out exactly where my white top ended and my arms began in this picture.
ive actually got many more pictures but if i posted them all you'd continue reading this entry till the next millenia.
