attention-seeking in a whole new sense

one of my pet peeves is ppl who openly, obviously, attention-seekingly declare that they so thoroughly looooove this or that.
if you really like it that much, keep it to yourself. what makes you think the world wants to know it?
dont strut and sigh in front of me and wave it in my face like its something to be proud of. or even worse, give me examples to prove how incredibly DEVOTED you are!
what do you want me to do, congratulate you? envy you for your saintliness? slap you?
the last i would gladly do.
