the return of the spinathon

2006-12-29 11:35 p.m.

whoohoo another record-breaker. 29 spins! yea. i actually beat dionne this time, ha.

today was another dizzifying day, thanks to the influence of spin junkie dionne. we skipped intermediate just to practice spins and the what's-it-name, shandy or shanny or something like that. dionne wanted to learn the other spin thingy from the teacher, who proclaimed that it was VERY easy and just like a pirouette! that's all good and well, if you know what a pirouette is, which i dont.

before that we received a flurry of instructions from all about as we spun each other.

you must draw a halo around the head.

keep to the forehead!

make a big circle with your hand.

use your arm, not your wrist to spin.

keep your circle constant and even.

control the girl.

and the spin-nee also received many tips.

lock your arm.

focus.

keep tapping on the same spot.

dont duck.

look up.

use the free arm for momentum and balance.

but when you're actually spinning the only thing you can do is hang on for dear life and hope for the best.

our training with each other also drew comments, because unforunately we wore the same color today. the terms 'double ds' and 'd&d' floated in the air, sheesh. we sound like a carbonated beverage.

many other interesting, blog-worthy things happened but they're all lost in the whirl of my head so i cant write them down.
