white noise

soooo my first impression of this place was that it smelt very badly of smoke.

after a second i noticed that it was packed with ppl.

thirdly i discovered that dionne, tan min and amanda had arrived and were heading towards there and that jaymz had also popped up from there.

lastly, i realized that it was where we were performing.

having completely walked past the rather dingy entrance, my eyes saw it but my mind told me that the biggest club in singapore had to have a grander main entrance.

unfortunately i was wrong.

soo all of us went in together with the little 7-year-old boy (named parvin i think) in tow, talking at the top of his squeaky voice, and saw the main dance floor, which was completely packed with bopping ppl.

quite unlike the isolated, tranquil area i was told to expect, hm?

then we went to a tiny cramped corridor for rehearsals (not a good idea when you have 13 ppl swinging their arms), and saw this other room named smoove which contained a gigantic cage and absolutely nobody. hm.

after rehearsals we crammed ourselves into the tiny spaces around the 'stage' (which was just a not-very-big dance floor) for our own item, and when we were announced, walked not-very-spiritedly into our positions. dionne complained about her excitement level, or lack thereof, because she had to wear her specs and so didnt feel good... weird. but she couldnt take them off because being partially blind in a foreign area that is stuffed full of ppl and where even 20-20 vision is blurred (because of those darn lights and that smoke) is probably too freaky to handle.

so as usual, when we performed, the only time ppl cheered was during the shimmy, which was the very first move. after that we didnt hear a peep from the crowd until we ended, sheesh.

then we went to find the others and performed the other item. for that, the crowd only cheered when parvin came in and did his cutesy part. once again, sheesh.

as we were leaving we heard on2, which dionne and i are doing on saturday, being announced, so we jumped up and down in an (obviously futile) attempt to see it. in the end some ppl offered their seats for us to see better, ha, but we only caught the ending. the costume looked quite stupid, all thanks to those fisherman pants, which strongly resembled pajama bottoms.

when i got home i was completely exhausted. why, you would ask? because i did 2 items? noo, thanks to my now healthier lifestyle i wasnt that tired after that. it was because of the DARN CABS, or complete absence of, which caused me to wait half an hour with the st johnses before losing my patience and sprinting the entire distance to clarke quay mrt.

all in all an athletic night out.
