ice peasant

2006-09-07 8:25 p.m.

today was the ONLY day i actually felt like it was a holiday.

i got up at my own desired time (though i did get awoken unpleasantly at 8.30 by dionne, hmph) took my own sweet time dawdling around the house and left to go ice skating at about 12.30. i met dionne at the control station and we walked to the rink, which was completely filled up to the BRIM, a complete skating disaster. i foresaw lots of human walls and clogs.

after decades of queuing for admission and then for skates, we finally got on what was left of the ice after millions had slid and sliced on it.

(i would like to add that we had yet to see hide or hair of tan min and junhui at this point, becuase they'd apparently gone to the arcade. dots.)

as predicted, there were even MORE human obstacles than usual. i shall now introduce a new term to all readers: DOMINOES.

ok i realize that's not so new but still. i dont spose anyone needs an elaboration of how dominoes relate to people ice skating?

well. im sure you all get the point.

anyway, tan min, junhui and tan min's bro finally joined us. it was quite fun leading them around because it was more challenging navigating through the human minefields, which could erupt and crash down on our feet any moment.

after that dionne tried to teach me how to go around a circle backwards doing some swirly thing. i say 'tried to' because i still didnt get it in the end, hmph.

what i DID manage to do (sort of) was the criss-crossing leg thing going forward! and um a LITTLE bit of spinning, near the railing.

of course dionne could do the full thing without any sort-ofs, unfairly! haha.

after that junhui, tan min and her brother went to the arcade whilst dionne and i went to mcdonalds. we discussed nutritional facts and the amount of calories she was consuming, then we went to this fashion and tried on ridiculous stuff which was horribly funny to look at.

after that we watched the devil wears prada, which was pretty average and doesnt really leave any lasting impact. after that we went to this tiny cosmetics shop which offered a HUGE variety of nail polish testers that absolutely dazzles the eye. unfortunately all my fingernails were already painted, so only dionne could try them on. still, it was fun enough to watch.

well that's all for today. probably more tmr!
