physical

two days ago we had our bio paper.

whilst waiting for the paper to be distributed i rested my head on my hand and was surprised to find my palm warm whilst my fingers were ice.

apparently, the air con wasnt the cause of my freezing fingers (though it certainly contributed to it).

the unequal distribution of warmth proves that.

and so i decided to do a quick self-analysis to pass this agonizing wait whilst getting some revision done at the same time.

this is what i figured was going on within me:

adrenaline released from adrenal glands in response to the body's being in life-threatening situation.

arterioles in skin on fingers constrict to channel blood flow to vital organs (hopefully the brain!) causing pallor.

body is now ready for fight or flight (or write, in this case).

nerves zip up and down the nervous system for no good reason other than to cause the brain to think paranoid thoughts.

stressful situation stimulates spinal reflex centre to send impulses to muscles on the fingers, resulting in obsessive hair twirling, an involuntary conditioned reflex action.

increased activity of sweat glands in palms to produce more sweat for no apparent reason, because the body is already cold enough.

at this point of time i had to stop my whirring brain because the teacher was there with the paper.

which turned out to be totally, completely and ridiculously difficult.

the sec 4s next year who will be doing the same paper for practice will sympathize with us and hope that they dont get a similar paper.

but they probably will, muahaha.

physics today was no better.

browsing through the innocent-looking paper, i silently cheered because the paper looked simple.

but gradually my thoughts went from 'hm what an interesting question.' to 'huh, how do i do this?' to 'what on earth is this?!' and then simply to 'WHAAT!!!'

the circled questions, which mark my uncertainty with my answer, soon began to increase until i stopped circling all together because it would simply mean circling all the questions.

nobody was surprised to find out who had set the paper.

well a maths is tomorrow and i have to go mug now.

taa.
