well today was slightly different.

miss koh called me up in the parade square and told me to take the lift up to the fifth floor auditorium, where the rest of the drama club was waiting.

i thought it was some cca meeting at first. till i met a whole chunk of other ppl, some from my class, all NOT from eldds, seemingly with nothing in common.

really strange.

then we all went into the auditorium and found out that jin kiat had passed away.

quite shocking, though i didnt really know him. a lot of ppl were crying.

at eleven something we went to his wake. it was a christian one, with a bible verse written on a black tapestry behind the coffin. we had to bow three times and the whole thing really resembled a scene at a temple where ppl go to pray to a statue of the buddha or something.

more ppl cried.

then we sat down at the tables for about half an hour. a totally uncomfortable period of time because nobody was saying anything, just staring moodily into space. every tiny movement was obvious

after that everyone paid their last respects and we left, only to go straight back to the auditorium, get split into groups and sit through a looong debrief where everyone had to share something.

when we were finally dismissed it was already almost 1, so we had the usual lessons till dismissal.

i learnt the basic salsa move from yz. its not that hard, really, that all-important, fundamental move the entire dance is based on. the difficult part is apparently the spinning, so said yz, because she can never get her bearings after so much as a twirl.

for more info, go to dionne personally.
