virtual reality

well today was a pretty blah day.

except, of course, for the english oral exam, which went HORRIBLY. the conversation questions were horrendous and i was prompted again and again to no avail, because i simply DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY.

the questions were as followed: what university and what course do you plan on taking in future? how important is it to you to enjoy learning? would you learn something you love that is useless, just to indulge yourself? for what other reasons would you choose to take (insert whatever course you chose in question one) besides your interest?

obviously, i dont think there were supposed to be so many questions. those were just my prompts.

considering i blurted out a ridiculous course in question one because i simply could not think of anything else in that moment, having never even considered such a thing before, i steadily ran out of things to say after a while.

but still. i found it a very very unfair test because we had it in the ENCLOSED ava room with EVERYONE in it, the examiner, the candidate being tested and the rest of the candidates waiting to be tested, meaning we had to whisper out everything we said for fear of letting the other candidates overhear. its a completely stupid thing to do because you cant inject expression into your reading when you're WHISPERING, and your volume is another thing you have to take note of, like there isnt enough for you to think about already.

i wonder if this is grounds for an official complaint? maybe we can get a re-test.

anyway, when i stumbled out of the ava room shaky and wanting nothing more than to smack SOMETHING, (preferably that examiner) i had to immediately hurry off to tan min's house for chemistry tuition, which was as deadly dull and useless as ever. tan min and junhui were already halfway through with whatever they were doing, so i didnt bother to try to catch up but just did my own revision. its not like anything useful is ever done during this tuition, anyway. we'd simply do our tys and ask questions if we encounter any. good thing we're ending it today.

after the teacher left, tan min and junhui went to play that fishy computer game they seem to find sooo fun. i can see their world is rapidly becoming more virtual by the minute.

one time when i asked tan min where her worms were she thought i was talking about the computer game worms whilst i was referring to the mealworms she feed her fishes. (the real ones). but at least they dont say dumb stuff like 'LOL' (or even worse, 'laugh out loud') in real life like one particular egghead did.

till next time.
