my nervous system has had a couple of major shocks today.
even if you were a moron this would mean bad news, as a sentence containing both the words 'nervous' and 'shock' together is definately not good.
the first shock, or rather MAJOR one, because if i counted all the minor ones the list would go on and on, was when i remembered that there was an oral exam today.
make that O LEVEL chinese oral exam.
words that arent meant to be put into one sentence together always produces negative results.
well, as the above capitalized words suggest, one SLIP of the tongue could forever ruin one's future.
such knowledge does not exactly soothe one's nervous system.
anyway. when the dreaded period of time finally came, i realized how very unprepared i was. i thought it would just be another nice, familiar corridor test which i could sail through without making that much of a fool of myself.
unfortunately, there were a lot more cheat-prevention precautions taken, and all that added up into a jumpy nervous system, which proceeded to make me forget a whole lot of stuff.
however i was consoled by the fact that i wasnt the only one suffering from minor amnesia, because when i walked away it was with my own AND someone else's leftover ezlink card in my pocket, to be returned tomorrow.
but anyway that's out of the point.
walking into the examination room was like walking into a sentencing. the room is large and cold and the sound of your footsteps echo around you, whilst the examiners survey you with cold, merciless eyes, confident in the knowledge that a stroke of their pen could decide your future.
well i stumbled through the whole exam. i shall not elaborate, for if i do i will start hearing a flood of their own exam woes from other ppl.
those were my first major shocks of the day.
the second came when i was heading home with my mom, my system almost back to normal. then she tells me that uncle yihui, otherwise known as uncle harry, otherwise known as uncle zhong's brother, otherwise known as evynn's father, had passed away from a heart attack.
even though i didnt really know him, it was pretty shocking considering the cause of death, and because he's the fourth person i sort-of know whose died.
dora and the rest of the choir rats are going to sing at his wake tomorrow.
well i have nothing more to blog about.
