weirdo-ed out

2006-02-03 5:15 p.m.

i had a rather interesting day, actually!

lessons were absolutely atrocious. they just seem to draaaag on forever, and today's forever seemed longer than the usual forevers. maybe because its friday.

but anyway! i got to skip cca because the social studies teacher wanted remedial with us, HA.

well after that i decided to hitch a ride with tan min, cuz her parents were gg to fetch her. whilst we waited for the car tan min, yz, jun hui, amanda and i played pepsi. it was quite challenging, with everyone trying to kill everyone else. not like those ppl in church who just keep backing away.

then tan min's parents arrived and we all received a red packet each. how very nice. seems like the chinese new year spirit is still in the air.

on the bus back, 3 nan hua primary girls sat around me and i got to listen to the very interesting primary-school talk.

first 2 of the girls passed the third girl a sheet of paper which apparently contained their cheers for sports day, most probably. it was printed with stuff like 'Purple purple show your might. we'd let them see just how we fight.' patriotic stuff like that. they were from purple house, apparently.

there were all sorts of silly stuff praising purple, which would just make dora swell up with pride. but of course all the cheers were the same old ones heard all over s'pore, with slight variations.

though there was one im sure was made up by them. it went 'P is for purple. P is for purple. P is for purple. Purple is my house. That is good enough for me.' dots.

then they moved on to more personal subjects. girl A complained about this guy, nicholas, who kept stalking her and sending her silly messages. i got to listen to listen to one of her messages as she read it out, and it truly WAS very silly.

then girl B told girl C that she had heard rumors of girl C liking this guy named gertrude or something like that.

girl C ponders over this for a while, then says in a mature voice 'do you think that is true?' isnt that strange! i expected her to laugh nervously and quickly deny it and all.

apparently girls B and C did too cuz they looked at each other with puzzled expressions. then they awkwardly fidgeted with girl A staring intently at them.

this went on for a minute till girl B said matter-of-factly 'well i dont know whether to say yes or no! if i say yes you'd think me a bad friend and if i say no and you DO like the guy then you'd accuse me of not knowing you well enough.' how very honest.

but in the end girl A just said 'ok fine so i do like him. so what?'

these girls are so strange.

well the rest was blah, till i was in the lift going up to my house. this little old lady came hurrying in at the last moment, pressed her floor of choice, then turned to me and said 'happy new year!' and shook my hand. a COMPLETE stranger. as i said above, the cny spirit is still pretty strong!

that's about it. ta. P.S congratulations to dionne on her first blog at www.jansweetooth.blogspot.com
