unlucky draw

i went to the treetop walk today. i was zhuqing's partner, and we crapped half the way there. the other half was spent on wearily putting one foot in front of the other, in a state of brainfreeze. whenever we attempted to talk, the efforts were wasted. our conversation basically went like this:

'*pant*'
'i can hear you panting'
'uh huh'
'are you very tired'
'uh huh'
'so am i'
'uh huh'
'are we there yet'
'*silence*'
'here comes a slope'
'uh huh'
'i hate slopes'
'7th time you've said that'
'yea i know. i just hate slopes so much'
'8th time'

we soon realized the pointlessness of our conversation and stopped talking.

the loooooong trek there and the 'no dogs' sign hadnt changed. the whole lot of us were exhausted by the time we reached the treetop walk, but the thrill of actually seeing it kept us going. not that we could actually stop, anyway.

well the bridge was nothing much. at first, i thot it was a long bridge that connects 2 rainforests that have a big canyon in between. i was even hoping to see a stream running through the canyon.

but there were no canyons or water at all. all that was there were trees, trees, trees and more trees. blah.

after the sort-of-exciting bridge came the treetop trail. it should be renamed the treetop trial or the treetop test, cuz its so terribly long and winding and boring. it's firmly rooted to the ground, with tons of steps. really pointless, those steps. as soon as we reached the peak of the inclining steps we saw the declining ones right in front of us. jeez.

wen we reached a ranger's station we stopped there for a moment, during which a cute, innocent-looking little monkey leapt onto a student and stole the biscuit out of her hand. looks can be deceiving.

on the hike back we spotted a park ranger, patrolling about on a dirt bike. he told us to report to him if we saw anybody walking their dogs in the park, heehee. i wonder where he was 2 months ago.

finally, after a long, torturous return trip, we left the park.

the bus was deathly quiet on the ride back to school, cuz most of the students had fallen asleep. a great contrast to the noise-polluted bus that had brought us there.

i never want to see that park again.
