the remainders of saturday, and sunday

2006-03-05 7:31 p.m.

well yesterday WAS rather eventful, indeed.

after my previous entry i left for orchard with my mom and sis. we had lunch and shopped at OG, though in the end all that we purchased was a skirt. so 'shop' isnt really the word here.

then i went to the national library which is actually quite lousy despite its humungous size. only one storey out of 11 is used for the storage of books. really, why call it a library? literature centre or something would suit better.

i borrowed vengeance in death, which is turning out to b a rather gruesome story, sort of like angels and demons, but a lot less exciting. a cop is given riddles by a sick insane killer who goes around torturing and murdering people slowly. not very interesting, really. and the 'riddles' arent very intelligent.

after that i went to chinatown, but spent some time window-shopping because i was very early. the things there arent very interesting, mostly the same goods repeated over and over again in differant stalls.

well the time finally came for our lesson. the dance was horribly difficult, what with those jelly-ish body rolls we just couldnt seem to do smoothly. the teacher said something about 'mechanical' and 'robotic' sometime during the lesson. im thinking it wasnt a compliment.

then i went to toa payoh interchange with tan min and dionne, at toot dora's reference. it wasnt really that wonderful, but they did have nice authentic-looking bracelets. in the end we all bought one at this shop at $10 each and in the end received a membership card. not like we'd ever go back again, anyway.

well then sunday. dodo came to church looking rather....toasted. like some bread that'd been in the oven for too long. and the color differance was HUMUNGOUS. the skin above sleeve-level looked positively WHITE compared to the burnt-looking arm skin. tsktsk.

but thankfully i learnt that she didnt use any sun protection. and i am now in possession of the spf 130 sunblock she didnt use!! whoohoo. i shall ensure that i do not come out of camp looking like all those blackened reddened browned people did. its just so creepy.

well after service i acquired a temporary henna tattoo, courtesy to shoes's generosity. its quite authentic and indian-looking. i shall keep it till camp so the tattoo remains for months to come, though in a different color. instead of being browner than the other skin, it would b whiter.

then lunch and blah blah. thankfully we didnt see seed the whole day so dora couldnt start with her seed ramblings. but we learnt of something very interesting about seed thanks to a source dora seems to find reliable.

well because toot dora had a craving for sour power, AGAIN, we went to the ntuc. in the end she decided she DIDNT want sour power but some fish-shaped biscuit or something instead.

whilst looking for her stupid fish-shaped biscuits (she didnt even know how the packaging looked like. would have been a miracle if we found it) we bumped into javan. no idea what he was doing there. we'd actually walked past him a few times without noticing, how very strange.

in the end dora bought smarties because she couldnt find the fish-shaped biscuits. all that walking around, from the church to the ntuc then round and round the ntuc, for a small packet of smarties. stupid.

after that we went up to the study group area. that little terror disguised as a 6-year-old boy bugged me the whole day. i wish i never mentioned the word 'potato' to him. and fum and dora actually took his side and said i wasnt teaching him, like anything could go into his thick skull. his entire mind seemed to revolve around potatoes.

speaking of which, fum boasted about having his name included in a school's name, claiming that they named it after him. never mind that it was 'st nicholas GIRL'S school.'

ugh its monday again tomorrow. we're having some stupid in-place-protection thing on friday, which involves sealing everyone in an airtight classroom. we even have to create some makeshift toilet. oh, the horror. imagine the smell. i'd rather have lessons.
