michael phelps and the MTV video music awards come together like a cat put in water.
sad but yet very, very funny.
i turned on the computer intending to blog about the jonas brothers being the most overrated thing in the world next to zac efron but then saw michael phelps walk out to present an award and hence this entry is delayed because i fell over myself laughing.
what am i doing watching the MTV music awards in the first place? its promos period!
i was just taking a break alright, sheesh.
anyway back to what i was saying.
when the announcer (some rude british person with funny hair) announced michael phelps as the next award presenter i couldnt really believe it.
maybe there's more than one michael phelps in the world.
phelpS, right? plural.
then a silhouette of a lanky person appeared.
with incredibly big, protruding ears, made all the more obvious because of the whole silhouette effect.
surely not?
and then he walked into the light and it was the beijing michael phelps, wearing a pair of headphones.
at least the big ears were explained.
then he took them off.
and it turns out they werent explained, afterall.
just as his wingspan is longer than his height, his ear span is greater than his head length.
i think it would have been more merciful to just keep the headphones on.
he then goes into his mumble-jumble speech about how winning 8 golds at the olympics is nothing compared to lil wayne producing a hit song and topping the charts or something like that.
in a dull, monotonous tone and strange lopsided fake smile, with the slightly glazed look in his eyes that meant he was reading from a teleprompter.
and right i was.

Michael Phelps had his back to those of us sitting here in the nosebleeds. I can, however, see the teleprompter he's reading from like a champ.
