player, player, on the floor

church was relatively fun today! instead of sitting thru the boring games me potato huilun weihua nicholas and sean played minesweeper on the computer at the back. and drew the A bird, which is so famous now.

after church, potato huilun and peishan went for their carolling practice, leaving me 2 go 4 lunch with weihua. since we were just about broke we ate at a 7-11 AGAIN.

after that we went back to church, peeked in at all the different sections of carolling practice, laughed at potato and huilun sitting oh-so-upright-and-serious-faced, then decided to watch harry potter since weihua had the disc. so we entered the baby room, spent some time fiddling with the tv and player there, then decided that both were too ancient to b used and went up to the office instead. which caused even MORE problems.

the church seriously needs to repair, renew and rejuvenate their poor electrical appliances. there were 2 elderly players under the tv, a samsung and a toshiba, but that was NOT good news.

first of all, neither of them were plugged in. so we tried plugging in the samsung, and discovered that the tv wasnt connected to it. so we tried the toshiba, but it made a lot of noise, so we decided to try the samsung again. it still didnt work, no surprise there, so we fiddled around until we saw 2 yellow cables at the BACK of the stupid shelf.

we concluded that since neither of the players were connected to the tv, the cables were there for connection, so we picked up the 2 cables, chose the prettiest-looking holes in both the tv and the samsung, and discovered that they werent the right ones. after much trial and error we finally got both holes right and the harry potter menu flashed onto the screen.

rejoicing, we started the movie, only to find out that all the actors had gone mute. so we deducted that the other cable must b for the audio, and spent another agonising few minutes eeney-meeny-miney-mo-ing all the holes. wen we finally succeeded, the words 'WHAT did you say?!' in a strong british accent was music to our ears.

we finally settled back to watch the movie, but after a few minutes the whole thing jammed. so we opened and closed the disc hatch, and what did that stupid samsung player do? it flashed 'no disc' onto the screen.

in the end, we unplugged everything and tried out the toshiba. we spent a lot of time getting all the cables in the right holes again, and then what? the DARN PLAYER COULDNT OPEN ITS HATCH!!! so we had to remove all the cables AGAIN, and just as we were replacing them in the samsung the old shaoer chuan dao came and told us that the toshiba was broken. obviously. we found that out the hard way.

wen the cables and everything were settled once more, we started the movie again. thankfully nothing went wrong....until 15 minutes later wen my mom called and i had to leave.

that had to b the most frustrating afternoon i haf ever had in my life. it makes me wonder where our weekly church donations goes to.
