finally, the dreaded papers are over.

no more glaring at nonsensical words on a stupid textbook and trying to force yourself to understand while what's really going on in your head is 'the blood goes to the lungs through the left ventricle...hmmm there's a stain on the textbook...no its the right ventricle...what is the funny smell?'

well to celebrate me tan min zhuqing and junhui went to orchard (quite a lot of people were there, including joanne, ying xin and meiting) to watch a movie. before that we went for lunch (where we received a pack of small fries thanks to good fortune and an absent-minded employee) then takashimaya where there was this shoes/bags/belts sale going on. there were so many really nice belts, the glittery necklace-looking dangly ones which was incredibly expensive.

we went on to watson's, where junhui bought 2 different shades of green eyeshadow and a mascara, and received a free gift package with a makeup bag, some lipstick thing, ANOTHER mascara and some other stuff. the rest of us poor people just browsed through and made fake bruises on our arms using the eyeshadow. which turned out very realistic-looking, proving that applying eyeshadow is a very delicate process. one wrong move and you end up with a very glittery shiner.

after that we went to HMV and some other places, and finally to the cinema. zhuqing and junhui went to watch aquamarine whilst tan min and i watched take the lead. which turned out to b relatively interesting, albeit unrealistic, because there is no way you can learn to do a perfect split, kick a leg up to your nose and bend backwards so dramatically in just a few weeks.

but otherwise the movie was okay, despite being so stereotypical i could guess the events beforehand. my predicted storyline:

1) a group of rebellious students
2) meets ballroom dance teacher
3) teacher somehow gets them to dance
4) they enter a competition
5) and end up with first or second

this is what happened:

1) a group of detention students
2) meets philosophical ballroom dance teacher
3) teacher somehow gets them to dance
4) they enter a competition
5) and end up with a tie.

yea im clairvoyant.

anyway, before the movie was played there was the usual screening of coming-up movies, including poseidon.

it was a mixture of flight plan, the perfect storm and titanic.

'oh my god the ship is sinking, i cant find my daughter and a giant wave is coming up!'

sheesh.

aquamarine was pretty standard, too, from what i heard from zhuqing. it includes the global beliefs that mermaids' legs turn into fins when they come into contact with water, and that they can grant wishes to those who help them. and the necklace all mermaids apparently wear! typical.

signing off, ta.
