new year's!

hello there dear readers!

i know its new year in singapore already so happy new year to all you people.

but its only 7.20pm here in hamburg so my fun hasnt even started yet, ha!

because its actually legal for people to buy dangerous explosives here in the form of fireworks and little cannon thingies and set them off, we've been hearing little pops and bangs all day long, with the occasional big boom from a rich kid now and then (the bigger the explosive the more expensive it is) and even fireworks weeeee-ing away, which is cause for all of us to clamor to the windows and squint and stare much to the amusement of my relatives, who probably see this every year.

i actually woke up sick this morning (darn flu bug) so my entire family stayed home and didnt go anywhere the whole of today, which just means im all the more bored and restless now that ive recovered.

i mean its NEW YEAR and all and its so sickening to not be able to leave the house when you can hear all the fireworks going off outside.

my family was actually invited to a party at my uncle's girlfriend's parents' restaurant (how complex) which i am dying to go to because they have real, gigantic fireworks and cannons.

and anyway how can you resist an invitation like 'hey do you all want to dance? go to the party!'

though the dancing is, im sure, the silly club-ish style which seems to consist of nothing but bopping up and down, i STILL want to see it because its like real clubbing which i have never seen before.

but that is, naturally, the exact same reason my parents dont want us to go.

and of course the alternative is to sit at home (in my other uncle's house) and play board games, and at midnight set off the smallish fireworks that we have here.

its actually quite funny how intensely different my 2 uncles are, which is apparent by the way they celebrate new year's.

one stays at home with his wife and kids playing board games whilst the other drops by for a facsimile of a second before whizzing off to party at his girlfriend's restaurant.

weird.

now all i have to do is try to find a way to get my family to go to the party so that i can take a look - just one glance would do! - at how clubbing is like.

but then again next year (just a couple of hours away!) i'd officially be EIGHTEEN which means i can observe all the clubbing i want to, muaha.

but i wouldnt be able to see german clubbing, so i still need to go to this party.

what?

its just curiosity, alright.

anyway i think ive bored you enough with my rambling, more from me when i get to munich tomorrow!
