class rules vs chess rules

today, the butt changed our seating arrangement.

once again i had the strange feeling of being a living breathing chess piece, moved around the board with my fellow chess pieces at the player's fancy.

the pieces all valiantly argued with the player for a desired spot, but due to certain restrictions which must b obeyed the player turned a deaf ear to all the pleas.

for example, the pawns can only move straight ahead because they have, ahem, low attention spans, which is a nice way of saying inattentivity (namely a certain someone whose name starts with A and ends with Mando, ha.)

the king on the other hand can move in any direction desired, due to a lack of conspicuous height and probably good behaviour. There is only one restriction in its movement - it may not move into a position where its attention may be captured by an opposing piece.

thankfully we havent any queens yet, who can move as many squares as it desires and in any direction, replacing the unlucky opposing piece that gets in its way.

in the end, nobody wins.
