worlds apart

to dionne: if you need track pants, BUY MINE!!

since im not allowed to wear them in any color but black now.

was reading dionne's entry on jj dance and it hit me (not like it hadnt hit me gazillions of times before) that they are oh-so-different from aj dance.

in virtually every segment.

be it dance style, discipline, technique, attire, number of practice sessions and of course, (cumulatively), SYF medal.

whilst jj does sensual - so i heard - aj does straight-up classical dances and are able to make chest rolls, hip rolls and body waves look purely technical.

a feat that has yet to cease amazing me.

and whilst dionne seems to be having an easy breezy time at jj being the best of them all, im suffering from an inferiority complex at aj with all the 'oh, ive ONLY learnt ballet from young!' girls.

then there is the discipline.

aj dancers dont need a teacher to whip them into shape.

they do it themselves.

'let's all go for 2.4km runs together once a week! hmm is it enough though, we only have two 2-3 hour long dance practices a week and 2 hour-long PEs. maybe we should run longer distances? we need more self-practices!'

ditto about the technique stuff, ive already covered it.

the attire?

strictly black track pants and LEOTARD.

oh, kill me now.

but then, there is that little matter of the SYF medal.

hehehe.

i'd happily stay with them till the next gold with honors.

who knows? maybe after 2 years i'd be one of those 'hip hop is so ughh.' girls.

or not.
