i knew there was a reason why i dont like wearing shoes to dance.
knew it.
next time i am going to simply paint my feet to look like shoes and go barefoot.
such a humiliation!!!
today - seeing as the 4 blisters on my feet had not magically disappeared as i had hoped they would - i stuck 4 plasters on, put socks on over them and raved off to singapore flyer for the performance.
(it just occurred to me how much more disastrous things would have been if i hadnt worn the socks.)
the first shock came when i saw the purple stage. it seemed to be made of velvet or something.
the second shock was when i was ON the stage, simply doing the first move which was WALKING (albeit with a bit of a drag) across and my shoe-clad feet kept catching on the incredible friction of the floor.
the third shock came, naturally, when my shoe decided that my foot was not a good enough host and bid it farewell, choosing instead to sit in the middle of the stage in its place of honor.
a little white shoe in the middle of a purple stage.
oh the horror.
im hoping that the audience saw the humor in it, as i did.
(not.)
anyway, the next perf would be at SENGKANG, NEXT SATURDAY, as i have no doubt already mentioned.
to get you people interested in it, let me just tell you it will more likely than not be a one-man show.
a one-man show with 2 people, but with the other doing as much work as a pole.
and with just about the same flexibilty and agility.
so go to sengkang on sat, if just to see how badly i crash and burn with the pole.
whoohoo possible change of partner!
now go just to support me, as im sure you are dying to do!
