patience DOES pay off.
i went to escape with yz, dora, dawn low and beverly. yes, an unlikely fivesome, but yz's coming wasnt really planned.
as luck would have it, it rained, of course. i sort of expected it, because EVERYTIME i plan outdoor activities, it rains. swimming, escape, zoo, birdpark. uncanny, really.
anyway, dawn low, dora and beverly left after a while because they didnt think the rain was going to stop, so yz and i were left to wait for the bus that would take us to escape. after about 10 minutes more we too got impatient and decided to go to bugis to watch a movie instead, but when we got out of the queue, the bus came. hm. once again, as luck has it.
well without thinking about it we just boarded the bus, but when we got to the escape stop it was still pouring, so we were stuck there with no way of getting anywhere except for the bus, which had left a moment ago. so we threw a virtual dice in yz's shaker phone game, and because i won we used our ponchos as shade and walked to escape.
luck was really fickle that day. by the time we got there, the rain had stopped. sheesh. so we got tickets and went in, and the place was practically EMPTY. unfortunately most of the rides were still getting tested, so the only thing open was the haunted house.
since only yz and i were there, we sort of hesitated at the entrance because we saw this guy dressed as the grim reaper standing just by the entrance. in the end we went in, and the guy didnt really give us much trouble.
the place wasnt really THAT scary. the only thing creepy was the total, complete darkness, so dark we couldnt see our feet and had to step carefully. the effects were all quite fake, and there werent even any of the distract-and-pop-out tactics most haunted houses use.
so we went again! haha. but this time the grim reaper, AND yz, were more annoying. when we went to the entrance again the sadistic grim reaper jumped out and yz, who had DRAGGED me to the entrance, started dragging me OUT. so i dragged her in instead because i didnt want to b humiliated in front of the dumb guy holding the door, but after we got in the grim reaper started following us and it was REALLY creepy because we could only see his silhouette thanks to the dumb darkness, and it really resembled the real thing, so we went out afterall. sheesh.
afterwards the other rides opened and we went on them, but all of them had lost their thrill because it was just the same old stuff we'd gone on a million times before. when we were on our 6th ride it started RAINING again. UGH. really really annoying.
in the end we still went to bugis and watched the omen, which turned out to b pretty good, even if my companion's behaviour was less than satisfactory. she kept making silly comments and causing others to shush her, and making a big show of pretending to SHAKE. please.
well overall it was a fun day, would have been better if i wasnt stuck with yz all day, though. sheesh.
